A full-time manager is sought for Smokedown Farm in Sharon, Northwest Connecticut (smokedownfarmhops.com).

We are the largest hop producer in CT with a growing customer base of local breweries and a wide variety of local beers featuring our hops. We have plans for expansion.

The manager will be responsible for all aspects and phases of hop production including early spring stringing of the high trellis to late summer harvest of the hops and processing to the final product for brewers. Marketing and sales of local hops to CT craft brewers is a winter focus along with equipment maintenance, hopyard clean up, high trellis maintenance etc. Recruiting and supervising a team for stringing and harvest is part of the job. Experience of agricultural practices and operation of heavy equipment including tractors, sprayers, irrigation system and harvesters is preferred. Business management and sales growth is a plus.
