The Farm-to-Neighbor Microgrant provides funding for farms hosting a small event for members of their local community in support of their farm. The event can take whatever shape farmers like, with the goal of connecting, sharing, and/or receiving feedback from current or potential customers. This microgrant will support farms in opening up conversation and connection with neighbors and people in your city and town.

Who is eligible?
The Farm-to-Neighbor Microgrant is open to any for-profit farm in Connecticut. We will give priority consideration to applications from new/beginning farmers and urban farmers.

the event. the guests.
The farm-to-neighbor microgrant helps farmers with a small event for their neighbors and community. This event can be anything that appeals to you and your community.
An event could be a small community dinner featuring goods from your farm, a day of harvest, coffee at the farm, garlic plantings, a plant bingo night, new product tasting event, a cooking or educational class, etc. Be as creative as you like. You are the expert on what your community would appreciate and enjoy.
Guests should be neighbors and community members, people you may or may not know. You can include anyone on your farm crew, but ask that you invite mostly non-farmers.
